What To Expect?

What can you expect when you visit us for our worship on a Sunday?

When you arrive we hope that you will find a warm welcome! Refreshments are available from 11am and there is time for conversation. We have various crafts/colouring activities for the children to do. These will usually be along the theme of the Bible story we’ll be looking at that Sunday.

Our Services begin at 11:30am – You are very welcome to join in with as much (or as little) as you feel comfortable with.  We are very used the noise and movement of children during our services.

During our worship we will sing some songs. These will either be led by a video on our screen or sometimes a worship band.

We will hear a reading from the Bible, usually read by one of our children. This will often be from one of the Gospels (the four books that talk about the ministry and life of Jesus) but might sometimes come from the Old Testament or the rest of New Testament (beside the Gospels).

As Christians on a journey of faith together, we feel it’s important to reflect on what the Bible reading we have heard means for us today and what God has to say to us today. This will sometimes be a short talk, or it might be a play by our children or a story told using props.

As part of our worship we will speak to God through prayer. Sometimes this is led by our children and sometimes we do something more interactive all together.

Christians the world over celebrate something called Holy Communion, where we say a special prayer giving thanks to God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – and we particularly remember Jesus Christ who died and rose again for us. We use bread and *wine which we believe in some way becomes Jesus’ body and blood to us. After this prayer everyone will be invited up to take some bread and wine. During this part of the service, if you don’t normally receive Holy Communion, you are very welcome to come up for a Blessing – where the priest will say a little prayer for you or you can stay seated if you’d rather.

* currently we only distribute bread during Holy Communion due to COVID.
